Solutions Specialist (SharePoint & Office 365)

Job Summary

The Solutions Specialist designs, develops and tests enterprise solutions as well as other custom application development projects using the .NET Framework, C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, SharePoint, WCF, WPF, SQL Server and Azure components of Microsoft technology.

This position consults with functional leaders and developers to implement custom SharePoint applications and site definitions in ways that supports the business in housing and managing DUCA’s policies, procedures, support materials, business forms, promotional materials, and other documents.  

Key Accountabilities & Duties

  • Oversee the SharePoint Portal Server infrastructure, user access and application deployment, leading the implementation of new SharePoint features across the organization
  • Support the installation, configuration, security, operation, and maintenance of all web portal servers, equipment, and software related to SharePoint infrastructure
  • Deploy and configure SharePoint sites, including creating and managing web applications and site collections, enabling end user access, and creating and managing DNS entries to maintain connectivity to SharePoint from inside and outside the DUCA environment
  • Deploy fixes, updates, and service packs, and optimize SharePoint performance
  • Train employees to utilize SharePoint functionality and services in collaboration with DUCA’s learning, communications, and operations teams
  • Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for SharePoint administration and appropriate use
  • Develop, configure, and maintain document libraries, enterprise lists and site collections
  • Perform typical systems administrative activities, such as site creation, user training (with the Senior Learning & Performance Consultant), backup, restore, and issue resolution
  • Consult on requests for changes or development of new pages, site design, site modification, application development or for a new site function
  • Keep updated with computer/server/software technology
  • Advise management on software and hardware support issues

Occupational Experience & Education Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on SharePoint development and architecture experience, creating SharePoint solutions including apps, master pages, custom page layouts, content types, workflows, and display templates for search.
  • Experience with design, development and deployment of enterprise level portals and collaboration solutions on SharePoint 2013, 2016 and SharePoint Online platforms using .NET Framework, CSOM, JavaScript, jQuery, C#, PowerShell scripting, XML/XSLT, HTML and CSS
  • Deep knowledge of related technologies such as: SQL Server, Internet Information Server, Windows Server, Azure, Office 365 and Active Directory
  • Full software development lifecycle experience on enterprise-class, scalable applications
