Senior Treasury Analyst

DUCA is looking for a Senior Treasury Analyst to join our team!

Job Purpose & Summary

Reporting to the AVP, Treasury, the Senior Treasury Analyst is responsible for supporting liquidity management, structural risk management and capital management in Treasury function with primary responsibility to manage daily funding and liquidity management operations. A key function for the role is to 1) maintain daily cashflow projections to execute funding requirements, 2) optimize the use of assets eligible for securitization and 3) facilitate the development and maintenance of advanced financial valuation models and cash flow models used to assess the financial impacts for securitization initiatives.

Key Accountabilities & Duties

  • Ensure adequate liquidity for working capital needs and invest short-term excess cash.
  • Lead short and medium-term cash forecasting process and analysis to ensure visibility, predictability, and access to liquidity.
  • Minimizes treasury funding costs while ensure DUCA is well-funded to support the growth objectives and competitive positioning.
  • Execute the transaction process of securitization initiatives. Liaise with securitization analyst and accounting group to ensure that existing or newly developed financial models reflect the true economic impact of transactions.
  • Supports development of the securitization and funding strategy over a multi-year plan horizon to optimize the funding strategy while maintaining compliance with legal / regulatory requirements.
  • Support the capital and liquidity stress-testing process and prepare the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Plan report for the Board and regulator.
  • Support the enhancement of foreign currency, interest rate risk, stress testing and liquidity risk metrics.
  • Support the foreign currency risk management program including exposure identification and determination of hedging strategies.
  • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide subject matter insights and recommendations.
  • Structures and assembles data into multi-dimensions with various granularities (e.g., mortgage pools, encumbered assets).
  • Integrates information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting.
  • Supports the strategic and tactical management of DUCA’s funding and securitization planning.
  • Develops and maintains expertise in all regulations, directives and guidance which apply to the Treasury group, including interpreting regulations and understanding emerging issues.

Occupational Experience & Education Requirements

  • Post-secondary education, with specialization in accounting or finance.
  • 8+ years’ experience in Treasury or Finance
  • Experience working with financial models, at a demonstrated advanced level
  • CFA and/or FRM designation an asset
  • Experience in data preparation, data analysis, and statistical tool sets including but not limited to Spotfire, Tableau, SQL, SAS, R, Python, MAtlab, SPSS

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

  • Knowledge of treasury, funding, cash management and foreign exchange
  • Strong analytical skills, decision making and organization skills in relation to managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional Financial Modelling skills
  • Strong finance acumen
  • Ability to handle increased demands during peak periods, e.g. month end, year end
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and driven – especially in the face of resistance or setbacks
  • Strong relationship management and influencing skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point 

Working Conditions

Working conditions may require extended hours in preparation for quarterly board meetings and special projects.
