DUCA is looking for a Graphic & Digital Designer to join our growing team!

Job Purpose & Summary

Reporting to the VP, Marketing, the Designer supports DUCA’s digital and analog marketing initiatives through designs for DUCA’s digital products and services including our public website, secure online banking platform, and mobile banking platform. The Designer is required to understand user needs and use digital design to meet those needs. This position will also be required to update and create print marketing materials. DUCA is looking for someone who will challenge the norm of conventional design thinking and help bring innovative ideas to the marketing team.

Key Accountabilities & Duties

Primary

  • Help to define the user model and user interface for DUCA’s digital products and features.
  • Maintain the DUCA website from a design and content perspectives.
  • Collaborate to produce user experiences that support our goals and vision while considering the end-user.
  • Communicate the intended user-experience with research, wireframes, style-frames, module design, prototypes, and mockups.
  • Develop high level and/or detailed storyboards, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas.
  • Create appropriate high-fidelity design deliverables for each project and iterate upon multiple ideas through rounds of usability testing.
  • Focus on current best practices while looking for opportunities to push for new methodologies and technical advances.

Secondary

  • Create print collateral and ad hoc materials based on new and existing designs, templates and brand guidelines.
  • Update existing print marketing materials and corporate communications, such as posters, event materials, signs, ads, rate sheets, brochures and election materials.
  • Coordinate print production and distribution of marketing materials, especially for campaigns and branch events.

Occupational Experience & Education Requirements

  • Degree in Graphic Design or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 1-2 years' experience with user-centred design methods, best practices, and techniques
  • Demonstrated experience in crafting usable digital interfaces
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Experience with mockups, wireframes, and user flows
  • Experience in prototyping, animation, illustration, and/or motion design
  • Experience designing for a banking platform such as the Forge Experience Manager or Backbase CXP considered an asset
  • Experience with working with developers and/or web or mobile-based technologies considered an asset
  • Knowledge of file preparation for digital and offset printing, and setting up artwork for die-cuts and folds considered an asset

  • Demonstrated visual design sensibilities as they relate to applying a brand to digital and analog experiences.
  • Creative and high-energy self-starter; shares unique ideas and solutions to make digital and print materials fresh and engaging
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables at one time
  • Team player and quick learner who is comfortable in a changing environment
  • Willingness to learn and experience print production.

 Working Conditions

This position works in a fast-paced office environment.  Standard work week of 38 hours with additional time may be required to meet deadlines and project deliverables.
