Senior Learning and Performance Consultant 

Job Purpose & Summary

The Senior Learning and Performance Consultant works collaboratively within the Operations and Service Delivery team and with key business partners to source, design, develop, and deliver focused learning and performance solutions that support DUCA’s strategic initiatives. This role reports to the AVP, Operations and Business Optimization, working in partnership with the Project Managers and Business Optimization Analyst in defining and designing role specific performance support to enable the achievement of both the project and organization outcomes. 

Key Accountabilities & Duties

  • Support the development of project/initiative specific learning strategy/strategies that include both the tactics and approach necessary to build the skills, knowledge, capabilities, and behaviours required to deliver to the business outcomes of the initiative(s).
  • As a member of the project team, partner with the identified business lead(s), subject matter experts, and stakeholders to understand the business problem to be solved and to determine the options/approaches necessary to deliver the needed learning solution.
  • Consult on comprehensive learning solutions in collaboration with key business partners and stakeholders to enhance organizational effectiveness and employee performance in delivering exceptional service and support to internal audiences and external Members.
  • Design and conduct needs assessments to scope business and learner requirements.
  • Source, design, and deliver effective learning solutions using best-in-class facilitation methodologies, leveraging a variety of delivery channels (instructor led, virtual, online etc.)
  • Support the implementation of learning initiatives through the development of employee communication materials, reference guides, and other resources.
  • Ensure alignment with organization wide compliance / mandatory training programs.
  • Develop functional role-based learning curricula and development programs.
  • Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness and business impact (ROI) of all assigned initiatives and leverage analysis to improve learning interventions.
  • Supports the prioritization of requests for e-Learning design and development initiatives
  • Manages workload, quality and output of the e-Learning Design and Development Specialist
  • Follow up on the delivery and effectiveness of solutions with business leaders

Occupational Experience & Education Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Adult Education or related field
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience encompassing all learning and development areas, including design, development, evaluation and facilitation
  • CTDP certification considered an asset

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

  • Ability to integrate adult learning theory and instructional design methodology into an effective mix of delivery media and channels
  • Proven experience developing and implementing competency frameworks
  • Preferred experience within a fast-paced, performance-based financial institution or similar professional environment
  • Proven experience building performance support tools
  • Prior experience managing individual contributors
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of how learning and organization development can positively influence business results and employee performance
  • Ability to work with general direction and exercise independent judgment
  • Passion for bringing out the best in others and demonstrating commitment to building a high-performance culture
  • Strong listening, oral, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated consultative approach with a service oriented mindset and the ability to effectively build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical skills – must be able to gather and synthesize information in order to identify key themes and performance gaps
  • Effective project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail with copy editing experience
  • Proficient in leveraging technology to advance learning initiatives
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with CuSource an asset
