Mortgage Fulfillment Associate

DUCA is looking for a Mortgage Fulfillment Associate/ Retail Credit Associate to support the Retail Credit Team in the fulfillment of Retail Credit loans and mortgages.

Job Purpose & Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Retail Credit, the Mortgage Fulfillment Associate supports the Retail Credit Underwriting Team in facilitating the credit decision and fulfillment processes. The Mortgage Fulfillment Associate uses sound judgement to verify documentation and ensure files are complete and ready for funding. The Mortgage Fulfillment Associate works with the underwriters, the Retail Credit Administration team, branch partners, and brokers to manage mortgage files from inception to funding, while adhering to tight deadlines.

Key Accountabilities & Duties

  • Obtain/compile all supporting documentation required for completing credit requests and fulfillment
  • Follow DUCA’s policies and processes related to document submission and processing
  • Partner with credit underwriters and administrative support group to facilitate the end-to-end credit decision and fulfillment/funding process
  • Make sound judgements regarding the accuracy of transactions and ensure they adhere to DUCA Policies/standards and guidelines
  • Follow-up with branch partners and brokers to ensure all required documents are received prior to funding
  • Manage mortgage files from inception to funding, while adhering to prescribed deadlines
  • Ensure the receipt of signed commitments and ensure all other conditions have been met within the prescribed deadline
  • Provide timely and accurate support to branches and brokers through the completion of credit and non-credit related activities such as verifying and satisfying Terms and Conditions, income calculations, and audit compliance and investigations
  • Work in collaboration with the Retail Credit Team to ensure all service level agreements (SLA)/targets are being met
  • Verify information such as applications and credit bureaus to ensure accuracy and adherence to DUCA’s policies and guidelines, as well as external lender guidelines/insurers (CMHC, Genworth)
  • Maintain a 24-hour turnaround time for documentation review, including the timely and accurate update of all systems
  • Review all documentation pertaining to adjudication and approvals of loans, while mitigating potential risks identified on documentation by the Mortgage Underwriter
  • Review all required documentation for accuracy and legitimacy, mitigating DUCA’s risks related to anti-money laundering (AML) and anti-terrorist financing (ATF)
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DUCA Policies and lending products to support recommendations or decisions related to credit files
  • Monitor changes to deals, communicate changes to the appropriate parties, and update files as required
  • Ensure that Quality Assurance requirements and Compliance review queries are dealt with in a timely and accurate manner

Occupational Experience & Education Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree, preferably in a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years mortgage experience, including exposure to both the prime, and subprime markets
  • Knowledge of mortgage default insurers’ lending programs and requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage funding and lending process are an asset
