Retail Funding Officer

Job Purpose & Summary

The Retail Funding Officer supports the Credit Department and retail network in the review and funding of mortgage files. This position is also responsible for assisting with other credit administration functions when required. This position requires a high degree of accuracy, the ability to work well with all DUCA team members and various external stakeholders.  The Retail Funding Officer is essential to facilitating a great Member experience while ensuring DUCA’s guidelines and Credit Union policies are adhered to.

 

Key Accountabilities & Duties

  • Liaise with solicitors, branches and various other internal and external stakeholders in order to receive, review and fund residential mortgages and loans submitted through DUCA’s retail channels
  • Ensure that all funding and AML criteria have been satisfied and confirm that any outstanding conditions are met as prescribed in the commitment and within deadlines
  • Conduct sub-searches, writ searches and prepare various mortgage documentation through Teranet program
  • Prepare Instructions to Solicitors and any additional required documentation for pending deals
  • Set up wiring instructions for required closings
  • Complete banking system up-dates, and regular review of loan details in the banking system for various types of loans
  • Other administrative duties, such as: preparing correspondence pertaining to deal closings, filing and other required tasks to help support the administration team.

 

Occupational Experience & Education Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in credit administration
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration/Finance considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of legal documents, legal procedures, preparation of mortgage and loan renewals  bookings and various other administrative duties
  • Product understanding of retail loans including mortgages, lines of credit, along with legal and Anti-Money Laundering documentation

  • Proficient with MS Office suite
  • Ability to prioritize and make quick decisions
  • Excellent time management capability
  • Strong writing, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and perform under pressure with tight time constraints
  • Ability to work in a team environment

 

Working Conditions

Normal office/hybrid environment.
