Employee Communications & Events Coordinator 

DUCA is currently looking for a Employee Communications & Events Coordinator for our Marketing Team! 

Job Purpose & Summary

The Employee Communications & Events Coordinator will support the execution of DUCA’s employee communications strategy by creating a variety of communications products and content (articles, blogs, videos, presentations) to support employee communication programs and initiatives at DUCA. 

In addition to supporting the ongoing maintenance of the company intranet and other internal communications platforms, this position will assist with the planning and execution of employee events.

Key Accountabilities & Duties

  • Research and write content for various channels including the intranet, Yammer, social media, emails, newsletter, etc.
  • Employ visually engaging media, including presentations, videos, basic infographics and more to convey information while keeping within DUCA’s brand standards
  • Develop and manage the content calendar for DUCA’s internal social network
  • Develop and manage a social media content calendar in support of Recruitment Marketing objectives
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of employee events
  • Upload Employee Communications and People & Culture content to the company intranet  
  • Support the execution of communication plans and creates tactics and content for various business initiatives.

Occupational Experience & Education Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Media or related field
  • Experience working with intranets an asset

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

  • Knowledge of communications concepts, practices, and technology, including social media and company intranets
  • Creative, self-starter; shares new ideas to make employee communications fresh and engaging
  • Superior writing skills with the ability to adjust style to various audiences and mediums; can translate complex ideas into easy to digest messages
  • Strong graphic design, video production and photography skills to create compelling and professional content for our company intranet site and social channels
  • Strong organization, prioritization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Comfortable in a changing environment with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills; comfortable working with stakeholders across the organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and various communications tools and programs (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, SharePoint)

Working Conditions 

This position works in a fast-paced office environment and may be required to travel to branch locations on an infrequent basis.  Standard work week of 38 hours with additional time required to meet deadlines and project deliverables.
