Senior Talent Acquisition Partner

DUCA is looking for a Senior Talent Acquisition Partner to join our Talent Acquisition Team! This is a great opportunity to own a diverse recruitment portfolio and work with a collaborative and dynamic team.

The ideal candidate for this role is a senior and experienced Talent Acquisition professional, comfortable managing a high volume of open requisitions with a focus on hiring manager and candidate experience.

Job Purpose & Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition, the Senior Talent Acquisition Partner establishes partnerships with hiring leaders to attract, identify, and hire top talent that will enable DUCA’s growth and the achievement of strategic objectives. This role will consult with hiring managers to gain a deep understanding of their business and talent needs and develops tailored recruitment strategies. The Senior Talent Acquisition Partner advises hiring leaders on recruitment procedures and best practices and provides feedback and coaching to develop managers’ interviewing and hiring skills and ensures compliance with employment and human rights legislation.  Further, the Senior Talent Acquisition Partner identifies where there is room for process efficiencies and works with the Sr TA Manager to create and implement solutions.

The Senior Talent Acquisition Partner manages DUCA’s end-to-end talent acquisition process for a variety of intermediate to senior level and/or complex positions across  DUCA’s corporate office departments and branch locations, including candidate sourcing, pre-screens, assessments, interviewing, facilitating debrief and selection discussions, and also managing the employment offer process and pre-employment checks for selected candidates.  As the Senior Talent Acquisition Partner, this role will manage a portfolio that is diverse and high volume, with volume fluctuations which can be anywhere from 33-66% more than DUCA’s average target benchmark of open roles, depending on attrition, time of year, etc.

Key Accountabilities & Duties 

  • Manage full lifecycle recruiting for a portfolio of assigned positions including short-listing top candidates with fulsome recommendations delivered to hiring managers
  • Leads TA process efficiency reviews, and works with the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition to create and implement solutions based on data-driven findings
  • Provide support and guidance to Talent Acquisition Partners as needed; share high level of expertise in Talent Acquisition practices with the TA team
  • Provide hiring managers guidance and consultation on recruitment process, policies, technology, industry trends and best practices
  • Develop trusting and collaborative relationships with hiring leaders; become an integral member of those teams as a trusted advisor
  • Conduct intake sessions with hiring leaders to understand their business objectives and priorities, position requirements, and gather input regarding sourcing approach as well as provide insight into the candidate market, ensuring to communicate service level commitments for each role
  • Help hiring managers articulate and define hiring needs, including technical requirements, skill gaps, ideal candidate profiles and potential internal talent
  • Develop effective recruitment strategies, identifying optimal talent attraction and proactive sourcing strategies; identify unique and creative solutions to fill difficult roles while maintaining time to hire targets
  • Utilize labour market data, market research, and other data to inform and influence hiring leaders regarding their needs, recruitment approach and decision making
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to craft and communicate DUCA’s value proposition to candidates effectively to attract top talent, positioning DUCA as an employer of choice
  • Develop networks of candidates and build strong pipeline of qualified candidates for critical roles; own the proactive sourcing process via Indeed and LinkedIn.
  • Accurately manage candidate activity / requisition lifecycle in ATS or other systems to ensure data integrity for reporting
  • Review applications and conduct phone interviews with candidates to assess fit with DUCA and technical skill requirements. Present shortlisted candidates to hiring managers, articulating candidate strengths and areas to explore further
  • Coordinate and/or conduct interviews and job fit assessments; guide hiring managers to customize interview guides and assessments that will enable them to thoroughly and accurately assess candidates; participate in in-person interviews when possible
  • Provide feedback and coaching to improve hiring manager capabilities related to defining needs, interviewing skills, legal considerations, compliance with DUCA’s recruitment practices and other best practices
  • Facilitate debrief meetings with interviewers/ decision makers in a way that guides managers to make the best selection decision
  • Ensure excellent candidate experience that represents DUCA’s culture and employment brand; influence hiring managers and interviewers to understand importance of candidate experience and best practices
  • Manage the internal candidate experience and coach leaders to provide positive and constructive feedback to internal candidates
  • Understand and explain DUCA’s compensation philosophy to hiring managers and guide them in making compensation decisions aligned with DUCA’s compensation program
  • Outline and explain other HR programs (e.g. job evaluation, compensation, training/ learning, performance management, onboarding) to hiring managers and candidates as needed
  • Manage the offer process for assigned positions including the coordination of all pre-employment checks, seamlessly transitioning new hires to onboarding steps Reinforce DUCA’s commitment to providing fair and equitable recruitment and selection practices and ensure appropriate documentation is maintained for each candidate and recruitment file
  • Represent and communicate DUCA’s employment brand through social media posts, writing creative job postings, communication with candidates, potential candidates, employees and through other recruitment marketing initiatives such as hiring events
  • Track key recruitment metrics to continually measure hiring and recruitment effectiveness
  • Review attrition and recruitment reports with Senior Manager on a regular basis to identify areas of opportunity related to the recruitment process
  • Participate in projects, implement best practices, embrace change and help improve the overall talent acquisition function

Occupational Experience & Education Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or related program
  • CHRP/CHRL considered an asset
  • 8-10+ years’ experience conducting full life cycle recruiting with a focus on proactive sourcing and pipelining
  • Comfortable managing a high-volume portfolio of recruitment across various functions and role types
  • Experience recruiting for roles at all levels, including senior level roles
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems for candidate sourcing and tracking
  • Experience in the financial services industry considered an asset

  • Exceptional multi-tasking skills with a proven ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing demands
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office products specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experienced with various social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Indeed and other social media recruitment platforms
  • Knowledge of relevant employment and human rights legislation
  • General knowledge of compensation programs and other HR programs
