Human Resources Coordinator

DUCA is looking for Human Resources Coordinator to join our growing People & Culture team!

Job Purpose & Summary

Reporting to the Manager, HR Operations, as the first point of contact for employees, the HR Coordinator provides client-centric support with a focus on employee onboarding and other employee lifecycle activities, reporting, and supporting the People & Culture team in executing human resource related activities.

Key Accountabilities & Duties

  • Provide first level support to employees and managers in the areas of policy interpretation and administration, employment legislation, employee programs, and related human resource functions and practices
  • Coordinate all employee onboarding and other lifecycle activities; maintain employee and other department files; initiate and track all administrative requirements, and coordinate workflows between the Talent Acquisition team, HR Operations, and Payroll
  • Prepare human resources related reporting including organizational charts, employee moves and headcount reports; and other ad-hoc reports as required
  • Monitor, track, and action pension enrollments, employee related licensing requirements or other employment conditions, conditional bonds, and work permit expiries; support employee benefit plan changes
  • Draft job letters, employment verifications, and other employee related correspondence
  • Partner with other members of the P&C team to ensure seamless execution of planned communication activities
  • Support DUCA’s Health & Safety program by attending meetings, recording minutes, preparing reports, and maintaining required postings
  • Continually identify solutions to simplify, automate, and improve HR processes and workflows to create operational efficiencies and scalability

 Occupational Experience & Education Requirements 

  • Post-secondary education in Business or Human Resources
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience in a human resources capacity (i.e. HR Administrator, HR Coordinator etc.)
  • CHRP Designation (achieved or in progress) an asset

  • Strong customer service, relationship building, problem solving, and follow-up skills
  • Strong active listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
  • Displays strong collaborative attributes to effectively work with employees, managers, and others in the P&C team
  • Possesses a solid knowledge and understanding of employment standards and related legislation
  • Ability to self-manage workload with strong time management, planning, prioritization, and organization skills
  • High level of integrity, ethics and professionalism; must be able to handle all confidential information with discretion and sensitivity
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products

 Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment. Standard work week of 38 hours with additional time may be required to meet deadlines and project deliverables.
