Job Summary

We’re looking for someone to take on the challenge of managing one of our vibrant, high opportunity DUCA branches! Reporting to the Regional Vice President, the Branch Manager will lead a team to deliver more to our members and local communities. In this role you are a leader, a manager, and a key representative of DUCA in the community you work in. The incumbent will have full participation in branch activities and campaigns and will have expert knowledge of all products and services. The ideal candidate is someone who can juggle more than one ball at a time, and fulfill a diverse role where no two days are the same.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with our members and the local community.
  • Draw upon your experience to coach your team in the development of their sales and advice skills, building relationships, and finding ways to promote the DUCA brand and values.
  • Personally meet and exceed member expectations by providing advice and solutions that help them achieve their financial goals.
  • You will work with your team, colleagues, and partners to achieve sales, growth and profitability objectives.
  • Work in partnership with head office and our wealth and insurance partners to execute our member experience and business strategies.
  • Develop and support a high performance culture driven from accountability and through the hiring and development of top performers within the branch.
  • You will oversee, lead, and be accountable for ensuring the operational and compliance practices within the branch are met. You will ensure processes/controls are in place and being followed to mitigate risk and protect employee and member interests.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • Mutual Fund license (IFIC)
  • University Degree or 3 year College Diploma coupled with appropriate experience
  • A minimum of 3 years managing people
  • Proven success in growing the business and establishing community and member(client) relationships
  • Proven “business acquisition and business development” mindset
  • Experience in personal banking. Experience in business banking considered an asset
  • Mortgage, lending and investment experience
  • Strong credit skills – adjudication and underwriting
  • Outstanding people management and leadership skills including the ability to manage through change
  • Strong relationship-builder –Proven business management skills following company compliance policies to operate within the legal and securities regulations set out
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and strong relationship building skills. Ability to establish strong internal and external relationships in order to support business growth; seek out, develop and close new business.
  • Supportive of diversity both internally and within the community
  • Ability to personally sell and close business
  • Strong people management skills including performance management and monitoring
  • Proven sales, sales management, and coaching capability
  • Strong business acumen and problem solving skills
  • Solid banking and customer service experience
  • Advanced organizational and self-management skills
  • Ability to train staff and manage performance
  • Proficiency in Windows
