DUCA is looking for a Financial Services Officer (FSO) for our dynamic Burlington Branch! We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, service and sales oriented, and can deliver great customer service to our members.

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Branch Manager, the FSO is responsible for growing and maintaining relationships with our members by providing a full range of lending products and investment products while providing proactive and complete solutions to members’ financial needs. The incumbent will have full participation in branch activities and campaigns and will have expert knowledge of all products and services.

The ideal candidate: Self-motivated, ambitious, customer-focused, sales-driven, strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to see the “big picture” when discussing members’ needs.

Position Description

  • Provides and identifies lending solutions to members’, including: mortgages, loans, lines of credit, by using efficient credit interviewing and underwriting skills. 
  • Provides investment advice by identifying and promoting DUCA’s investment products, including: registered and non-registered term deposits, TFSAs, mutual funds and wealth solutions that fit and meet the members’ needs. Refers expanded investment services needs to the Wealth Management department as required.
  • Opens new accounts, reviews member needs and promotes the appropriate DUCA products and/ or services. 
  • Actively participates in all branch activities and campaigns in order to generate revenue and sales to achieve performance targets.
  • Identifies external opportunities to build and develop retail loan business within the area to optimize sales and service results by developing solid relationships with realtors, builders, mortgage brokers and other key influencers. 
  • Refers commercial loans to the Commercial Loans department and expanded investment service needs to the Wealth Management department. 
  • Resolves problems at first point of contact where possible and refers more complex member concerns to appropriate staff.

Desired Qualifications & Skills

  • Post-secondary education, and a minimum of 3 years’ banking experience. 
  • Retail loan and mortgage knowledge and experience. 
  • Mutual funds license (IFIC). 
  • Experience providing advice on investments. 
  • Expert working knowledge of all banking products and services. 
  • Strong communications skills – written and verbal. 
  • Ability to relate well with others. 
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in Windows.
